Our supported housing service is a lifeline for some of the most vulnerable people in our society, providing vital support to help them thrive. We offer safe and secure accommodation to individuals who require care, support, and/or supervision to help them live as independently as possible within the community.
Humbercare leases a number of properties across the Humber region, including Hull, the East Riding, and North East Lincolnshire. We ensure that our properties are safe, clean, and warm, and meet the minimum statutory and legal requirements for property safety and standards.

Who is this service for?
We work in partnership with local statutory and voluntary services to provide supported housing to individuals with varying needs, including homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse, fleeing domestic abuse, physical or learning disabilities, an offending history, care leavers, or any other identified need that affects their ability to maintain accommodation and live independently.
Our service offers short-term, up to 2-year accommodation with support to develop independent living skills. We will then work with you to move you on from our supported housing into long-term independent accommodation in the area in which you wish to reside.
If you or anyone you know requires accommodation with a low level of support as identified above and would like to be considered for supported accommodation with Humbercare please start your application by clicking the link below.
Humbercare works closely with local authorities and their Environmental Health and Housing teams to ensure compliance with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Decent Homes Standard. We take a proactive approach to maintaining the condition of our property portfolio and respond promptly to inspections and schedules that identify potential hazards.
The HHSRS is a risk-based evaluation tool that helps local authorities identify and protect against potential risks and hazards to health and safety in residential properties in England and Wales. This assessment method focuses on housing hazards, and tackling these hazards is crucial to making housing healthier and safer to live in.
The Decent Homes Standard has four aspects:
At Humbercare, we work in partnership with our landlords and property owners to ensure that our properties meet the minimum criteria and continually improve our housing standards. This ensures that we provide quality housing to our service users.
Humbercare's Chrysalis Housing has seen many of its tenants gain the skills to live independently and secure full-time work. To support their successful move through and into long-term independent accommodation, Humbercare created Monarch Housing in November 2022.
Monarch Housing offers affordable properties to tenants who have secured full-time work and are successfully managing their tenancies. The service supports individuals through the practical process of moving, setting up utilities and bills, and acquiring essential items and furniture. Chrysalis Housing supports the transition for the first four weeks, after which the Property Management department takes over to ensure well-maintained properties and the Income Recovery team ensures rental payments are maintained. Monarch Housing aims to be the final step in the process, providing a positive pathway to independence.
