“I moved to a Humbercare property in Grimsby, not knowing anyone or the area at all. I was supported by a housing officer and another housing related support service through Humbercare. I didn’t go anywhere, and I was very anxious and depressed.
My workers made me feel at ease, supported me out in the community and helped me find things to do in the area. I was also supported to lots of appointments and making calls which I was always nervous to do.
After being in this property for a while and learning skills, I was supported to find long term accommodation. My worker continued to support me and helped me to set up a new tenancy. All the help I received has allowed me to feel confident in my property, I have learned new skills and become a member of the community I live in. I have joined groups and made new friends and I really couldn’t have done this without the support.”
